Cat Care Society: Remembering Linda James Goto

For the past three years, local animal lover and philanthropist Linda James Goto helped initiate and nurture to success the Cat Care Society fundraiser, Tails of the Painted Cats. She had served as a distinguished art juror for the project since its inception -- sharing her depth and breadth of knowledge and experience as the long-time coordinator of  'The Mask Project' for The Denver Hospice.

For that, the Cat Care Society is forever deeply grateful and, of course, saddened to learn of her unexpected passing this past week. Linda is pictured above bidding at the 2011 Tails of the Painted Cats Gala Dinner and Auction (Photo by Maggie Holben).

On Tuesday, November 20, she died at Sky Ridge Medical Center of pneumonia -- she had been battling leukemia for the past decade, according to the Denver Post obituary by Joanne Davidson: http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_22044135/pneumonia-claims-life-community-leader-linda-goto
