Lakewood Pet Examiner: 'Cat Care Society announces Endowment Challenge Grant'

Quoting from Carrie Dow's November 3 posting:

"The Cat Care Society has partnered with Community First Foundation, the same foundation that created Colorado Gives Day, to create a permanent endowment fund for the non-profit and provide care to cats and community for years to come.

Over the summer Community First Foundation held a challenge for the cats-only shelter in Lakewood. If the shelter could raise $20,000 for the endowment, the foundation would provide an additional grant of $10,000 for a total of $30,000. That goal was reached with the help of some generous anonymous donors.

This endowment fund will be held in perpetuity and a portion of it can be used each year to support the shelter’s mission. Various uses include helping the shelter’s continuing efforts to serve the community and its cats, to help provide a steady stream of revenue during the ups and downs of the economy and to raise the shelter’s credibility by showing the community that is it fiscally responsible and financially sound."
