DBJ: 'VC investments in Colorado life science industry up in 2011'

Quoting from this morning's Denver Business Journal posting by L. Wayne Hicks:

"Venture capitalists invested $66.1 million in six Colorado companies working in the fields of biofuel, medical devices and biopharma last year, according to a report released Tuesday by OnBioVC...

The six Colorado companies that received VC funding last year are:

Mosaic Biosciences, a biopharma company specializing in wound healing: $1 million.

OPX Biotechnologies, a biofuel company: $36.5 million.

PanTheryx, a biopharma company: $1 million.

Precision Biopsy, a medical device company: $2.5 million.

Surefire Medical, a medical device company: $6.1 million.

ZeaChem, a biofuel company: $19 million."
