Baxa Corporation is featuring its complete workflow management system, DoseEdge™, during this week’s ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting (MCM). DoseEdge is a fully integrated system for improving patient safety and pharmacy efficiency through the management of IV and oral dose preparation activities. The technology fits easily into current pharmacy practice and techniques, while providing a framework for reducing medication errors and the management tools for just-in-time production and resource planning. The ASHP MCM is the largest gathering of pharmacists in the world and a great venue to demonstrate the capabilities of the DoseEdge system to the pharmacy industry.
Introduced at the 2007 MCM, DoseEdge – formerly IntelliFlowRx™ – has processed more than 1,000,000 pharmacy doses to date. Today, 1,400 health-system users are managing dose preparation and barcode tracking through the system, which has resulted in the detection and rejection of approximately 30,000 product scan errors to date.
