"Organizers are still counting the proceeds, but the Cat Care Society raised thousands of dollars Saturday night at its 'Tails of the Painted Cats' auction and dinner.
The Society is a Lakewood-based non-profit with the mission of improving the quality of life for homeless, injured and abused cats in the Denver metropolitan area.
The highlight of this weekend's event at the Lakewood Country Club was the auction of fiberglass cat figures painted in a variety of ways by local artists."
